Just got a notice from CMU Computing Services... my andrew account is set to expire on July 20. So I slipped under the radar for a year, but it's finally over. All good things must come to an end, I suppose.

pitt said mine was expiring july 1, but i still get email forwarded to my yahoo address from my pitt account. i think they're liars.

Eventually you lose mail forwarding too :(

I'm not really terribly concerned about that as I haven't gotten any "real" email to ekorber@andrew since the fall. It is sad though.

I need to sign up for that alumni mail, not that I plan to use it now, but I want to reserve my name.

My alma mater kinda sucks, but at least alumni get free e-mail/shell access 4 LYFE. The student server is a Pentium III machine (srsly, WTF?), so this perk is of dubious value.

my year they said we were going to be the first year to have email for life, but then a few months later they retracted that statement and said they were closing the accounts within a year.
