I loved AXN for sticking with subs and no dubs! And aaahhhh the memories ^_^ fun times fun times. ^_^

although personally I'm not entirely crazy about the ADV dubs either! The ADV American dubs of Saiyuki were soooo grating is what pushed me into hearing raws over dubs and refusing to listen to anything else. A fact actually I'm grateful for because I actually learnt a little more and appreciated more the wonderful world of Seiyuu's !!!

I was wondering how long ago CN had it (but never finished it).
(glances up) If ADV scared you away does that mean you were spared Geneon's idea of Reload and Gunlock?
I've dealt with the US's idea of dubbing as far back as Voltron and Robotech(lets combine 3 seperate series) which is why I fear for KHR when it finally arrives. Reading subtitles makes me feel like I miss the action but I don't want to sacrifice what they are really saying just to hear them in english.

What CN had was the Media Blasters version, which people say is more accurate and better than the Monster Island/Sony version we got.

We got Saiyuki first subtitled (as mentioned there was a phase here where Animax and AXN aired subtitled anime), then dubbed by a Hong Kong team for English (then rather badly in Tagalog by a local channel). But since we knew what the boys really sound like, the dubs in English and Tagalog were never really accepted by fans here.

Animax uses its own dubbing team set in Hong Kong (sometimes they use a group based in the Philippines). FUNi holdings are re-dubbed by that Hong Kong team. Bandai and Sony holdings usually keep the American dub (so Blood+, Kyou Kara Maoh, and Cowboy Bebop are in American English).

This dubs of Samurai X was forgivable because its dubbed at the time when subs aren't that known yet and dubbing quality wasn't that perfect..

Actually i still love Reba West's performance as Kaoru(i know they use the name Cori whatever here) which is way better than her performance in Robotech(think Minmei).Derek Stephen Prince's performance as Sano was good also so does Brianne Siddall as Yoshi..
