So the literary obsessed in me wants to know what character...if you want to share. If not, I understand.
I think you're amazing and smart and beautiful and engaging in so many ways. Having said that, I totally get the part about what you see in yourself and what others see. I have a bit of trouble on that side myself.
So instead, I have been focusing on the me I want to be...and bringing out the me I think I am inside...and loving both the shiniest and the dustiest parts of that. I figure if I can get myself to move towards loving myself and making changings in my life based on who I want to be (not who others and who society thinks I should be) then that will end with a me that I love and who doesn't care what others think.
This, however, is still a work in progress. I'll let you know how it turns out ;)
In the meantime, keep filling your internal well in all the ways you're beautiful, smart, amazing, creative and engaging! hugs :)
It's Lady Sybil from the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. I find it interesting, in a self-reflective way, that my reaction to the comparison is just plain puzzlement. I am not angry or astonished in that "I can't believe it" way, I'm just, slightly confused. I accept that that is how she sees it. I try to see it too.
