Quest

Quest was an amazing event as usual. It's all the way on the other edge of the Kingdom, but the 13-14 hour drive is entirely worth it. I drove out with gflower and we chattered nearly non-stop for the whole ride. You really need to like someone to spend that kind of quality time and still be sort of sad to see them go...

This year I finally got into the ( Read more... )

You are freaking adorable when you are really excited and happy. It sounds like a wonderful event, and I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! We have Panteria here in the Northern Region of the East this weekend, and if I come home with such a glowing report, I'll be VERY well satisfied. Enjoy!

Man that looks delicious. No snow at Quest this year?

No, I actually had to buy ice for the cooler this year... We had some chilly rainy weather on Friday, but never *quite* cold enough to snow this year.

Unfortunately, it falls right when our baronial A&S falls most years. We shall see...hell we might be crown then and that could be lots of fun. I'll put a bug min mel's ear about it.

You know, it occurred to me when I read your entry that I, too, "need to season the pan" with bacon... every time I use it. Every time. Because, you know, it just needs it.

Or maybe because I love the way the scent of bacon brings everyone around to say "hi". :)

Sometimes, the magic of bacon is just undeniable and irresistible. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed that cabin. It's adorable and perfect for you!

Sometime when I'm not trapped in my own cabin doing scrollwork, I'd *love* to learn how to make those barley/oatcakes you shared with me, and also that chicken stew - I didn't get to taste any of that but it looks positively yummy!

It really is - it has everything I need and I can engage in all the weird-hour things I want without annoying housemates. :)

I often do the barley oat cakes - if you see me making bread at an event, in all likelihood that is one of the recipes on offer and I am always happy to teach. It's a flatbread and so a very forgiving recipe. The chicken stew was a first time experiment, but a success so a variant may show up again sometime too.
