Did you explain the distinction between good yeast (Saccharomyces) and bad yeast (Candida albicans)? Or is that for when they're older?

Over-kneaded? How do you get liliputians to knead for more than ten minutes? What kind of bread was it? And how did you make a yeast volcano?

It was challah and trust me, some of them were really into this. :P

The yeast volcano was yeast and water and sugar in a tall thing glass beaker so that the yeast blew bubbles and made it overflow. :)

All y'all late period folks need to appreciate how lucky you are to have such wonderful portraits and freaking EXTANT GARMENTS to work from when doing research. It is so easy it is almost cheating. Fun cheating, pretty cheating, but cheating. :P

Eh, it's only cheating for some folks like, folks who want to do Elizabethian-era stuff. Of course, even that was not so much true back in the day when I was crawling out from under the rock and the best we had was Norris and Braun & Schneider. My personal favorite, the 1490-1510 Tudor kirtle, is still pretty hard to support, even with better records in the era.

Alas. ;-)
