Here's the deal, Food Not Bombs is seeking bands or other talent who are willing to play for free at the Cobalt (Tentative date: Friday, AUGUST 3RD) which will have a $5.00 door price for the show.

The date of the show is not fully confirmed, at this time we're seeking bands who would really be interested

Food Not Bombs is run by volunteers and once a week we get together to feed the homeless in a political manner. We believe that no one deserves to be poor or go without food.

explain to me what a "political manner", is - ie vote, whose best needed for food, etc....

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT FOR?

To ensure the Vancouver chapters future, for publicity materials, to purchase the odd necessity like utensils (etc) or a stove, and to pay rent and so on and so forth, so we can continue to feed people on a weekly (and perhaps soon bi-weekly) basis.

UHM!!!!

I feed those that ask for money on the street if they will come and eat - many have offered goods in exchange, I refuse, happy to see them eat.

Shit. I would volunteer ASIHE for this, but the timing's all wrong (baby just born, drummer out of the country still). Food Not Bombs is such an renowned exemplar of peaceful direct action; it's very worthy of all of our support.
