Actually, I'm not even in the airport anymore (because Heathrow's WiFi is a law unto itself and I really, really didn't feel any particular need to sign up to a 12-month mobile internet contract just so that I could spend my ninety minute flight delay - seriously, again with the delays? Going AND coming back? - surfing the internet) but that title

like finally finding a place that fit.
D'awwww, I know what you mean! I feel like this fandom is a safe space, where I can over-analyze a quiet, dorky corner of pop culture and the response isn't "wow, you're reading too much into it" but "YES AND WHAT ABOUT THIS OTHER FIVE SECOND EXCHANGE?" There's just so much delightful history, ambiguity, and creative flexibility surrounding the Trek fandom, and K/S in particular (one of these days I should make a post about why TOS was the perfect storm to kick off the slash genre). It's marvelous!
So... did you get to keep any tribbles?

This is what I loved so much about KiScon: not only were you ALLOWED to analyze the hell out of a series of 5-second exchanges, people actually WANTED you to do it! I never get allowed to do that IRL - all my family and friends have a kind of Pavlovian "audio off" switch that is activated whenever the words "Star" and "Trek" leave my mouth XD
McCoy the tribble is currently enjoying his new home on my pillow (there's nothing quite like waking up to a tribble), while Kirk and Spock the tribbles have gone to live with my nieces (seriously, THIS is how much I love those kids - they get to keep K/S. Well, it's not like I could split the boys up).

I am amused that having initially been concerned that I might have to transport all those tribbles home again, I ended up not keeping a single one. We had people from 11 countries at KiScon so it tickles me to think the tribbles are invading the world!

Is it extraneous to mention I had THE BEST WEEKEND EVER at KiScon? Because I did, you know...

BTW, I got up to the end of the mission in Spice and then had to stop reading because of all the FEELINGS OMG. I actually felt like Spock; if there had been a Gol I could run away to in order to escape all that emotion I totally would have packed up and run without saying goodbye. I mean that in a good way, of course (sad is happy for deep people ;)). I'm working myself up to continuing. There had better be one hell of a happy ending in store...
