So this past week I was distracted by a guy. A guy I met on match.com, who seemed perfect for me at first (he was even checking out Buffy on Netflix because I said I loved it!), but turned out to be obsessive and insecure and way too preoccupied with his acne. I canceled my meeting with him and told him he needed to seek help (when I say obsessive ( Read more... )

I think that it was a poor choice of action to move the comm without seeking the input of the members themselves.

That was my eventual reaction. At first I was just pouty 'cause I love LJ, and then I saw a bunch of other people mention this and, well, yeah. Democracy would have been nice. In general I'm sort of over the move by now, but it definitely does feel more like an ending than a continuation/beginning.

My babyfic loving heart swelled at that part, because it validated the idea that Spike would be good with children

Yes yes yes!! That was exactly how I felt when I read the reviews. I've always thought Spike would be good with children and would love the idea of being a father once it actually occurred to him/became possible, and it's wonderful to see such validation, especially from a Spike-fan like Jane.

Yeah, kinda over the move as well, though me and my paranoia worried that this was enough of a negative reaction to garner a few responding posts.

I know exactly what you mean! It's nice to be able to trust that Jane is One of Us and that our character is in good hands.

Oh, hey, I think I heard from that guy, too, lol! I've let my match subscription expire. It's just more effort than it's worth, I think.

I'm having trouble getting worked up about the SS thing, not least because I've never participated and don't really read fic anymore, but I think Barb's post summed it up for me pretty well.

Yep. This guy seems to get around, doesn't he? I've gotten two more emails from him since he actually said it's the last time I'll hear from him, both of which have him asking if he can try again with me once he's gotten help. I'm just not responding. I'm letting my subscription expire as well, though I'm contemplating trying eHarmony again, and this time actually using it.

I've become pretty meh about the SS thing, too. It's done, it's moved. No sense crying over spilt milk.

WOOOOW. Dude doesn't know when to quit, does he?

Is eHarmony any better than Match? I started to sign up for it once, but got intimidated by 80 million questions they ask you. I didn't have to answer this many questions when I was applying to work for the freakin' FBI!
