I don't know if you encountered this while doing your first research round, but Duke offers an incredibly comprehensive guide to putting together grad school apps for the humanities. Might distract you from silly powerpoints for a bit :-D.
I just re-watched ITW for the first time ever a few days ago - I really don't know what possessed me to re-watch about half of S5 over the last couple of weeks, because damn near everything about it but Tara, Dawn, Spike, and sometimes Glory makes me really unhappy - and ugh, I forgot how angry Riley makes me there. BOO HOO, YOU ARE REACTING TO YOUR MISERY ALL WRONG, ME ME ME. Just like Angel, I don't have an issue with Riley going if he needed to go (though I do really believe Riley loved her), it's that he puts it on her.
What always enrages me is Xander's attitude when he gives his lecture, because who the hell is he to give advice? He browbeats Anya into submission by bemoaning her demon status. Someone else noted this douchebaggery today, so while I disagree that Joss is a bad feminist (he's good enough for me because AT LEAST HE TRIES), I totally agree that ITW could convince anyone that Joss isn't a feminist. Because that episode sucks ass.
