This is not quite a bunny, but I have a huge thing for early-ish Spuffy stories (S4-S5) where Spike and Buffy, though still antagonistic, are dropped in the middle of a situation where they have to rely on each other. It can be h/c or not, but there should be lots of snark and occasional moments of not-quite-intentional kindness and appreciation of same. We loves those, yessss.

The thing at this point is where do you even start? A within-the-show fic? (All I can think of is Zombie Apocalypse. We never saw one of those). Within-the-comics? Fray-verse Spuffy? Season 2 Buffy ends up in Comic-verse and meets "hero" Spike? Post-NFA? Drusilla comes after Buffy, Spike comes after Drusilla as she comes after Buffy/Spuffy reconnect. Or, Drusilla tries to find a spell to go back to prevent Spike from meeting Buffy in Season 2 (setting off a chain reaction of events in present and in past)

hm. okay! I just had a crazy idea! okay, so I've read fics where Spike gets soul taken away but what if Buffy's soul gets taken away instead? She doesn't get vamped, but maybe some nasty does a spell and just yanks it away! idk I feel like it could go somewhere.
Oh! Or maybe you could do Buffy having prophetic dreams in season 4 or 5 showing her that her and Spike will have a relationship in the future, and she tries to prevent them from coming true! Shenanigans! Antics!

has anyone ever written a fic where Buffy runs away after killing Angel and ends up in South America....where Spike has just been left for a Chaos demon?

And she and Spike get caught up in a situation where they need to work together while still all UST antagonistic and the Angel and Dru Issues loom like a festering wound?

I picture sweaty Buffy in a tank with her hair up and Spike all tight shirt-y with the unconscious attraction...

and I think this just devolved into porn. Damn. *sigh*
