Those Dark, Broody Vampires

Since my f-list is now primarily nice people in the Buffy fandom whom I stalk who are nice enough to friend me back after I troll around their posts for a year or so with nary a comment post to speak of, I figure I might as well end the silence and join the conversation.

Being an English major, I am able to analyze texts without being swept into the ( Read more... )

You have a great opinion.

I hate Twilight. Like Buffy and Love True Blood.
So I would probably like Buffy more if I had watched more but i didn't, my mom loves it though.

As for your roommates, well.... I'm sorry they love Edward so much...its a downhill-need a twelve step program from there.

And that they watch Buffy without you? Shame full.

nice to see a post from ya though :D

*wants to read the 'Why Angel is a Weenie' meta.* :)

I think you should just spontaneously laugh whenever Angel's onscreen. That'll condition them into perceiving his character as silly and laughable, not romantic or whatever.

I don't know if there's much hope for them if they're such big lovers of Edward.

I confess to reading the Twilight series and (at the time) enjoying them for what they were, mindless teeny-bopper I-can't-live-without-him drama-rama. Most of my students were obsessed with the series and I wanted to know what they were reading in my classroom. While I did enjoy some moments the stories were very juvenile and I HATE it when every outfit and room detail is described in *every* scene of a book. Which SM did. A lot.

On the topic of Angel... Buffy premiered here when I was 13 so I fell hard for Angel, still have a soft spot for him now, and not even my Spike!love will extinguish the tiny spark I still hold for him.

Your friends might be a lost cause. Or they might also appreciate Spike in all his facets, as well as Angel.

*Is embarrassingly ecstatic that gabrielleabelle and angelic_amy actually responded. It's like a creative writing student getting critiqued by Eliot.*
