3. I feel the same about Battlestar Gallactica. And Dexter. And SG1. And about a dozen other shows I've tried.

Except, in my case, it's more like couldn't even get past the first episode and derived almost no pleasure from them at all. *shrugged*

Well, I always try to give more than just the first episode a try, since the pilots area usually so different from the rest of a series. (My friend pyrite was watching SPN's pilot for the first time tonight and I said "Yay!" 'cause I want her to like it, but I also said she should try to stick it out at least through "Home.") But yeah...

I felt similarly about Dexter, take it or leave it, except that I really like Christian Camargo, so once I realized he was in it (in season 1) I watched 'til he wasn't on it anymore. I want to like BSG but haven't tried it yet. So... yeah. These are shows that are marketed to me, practically, and yet... no.

!!! blasphemy! *ahem* i pimped it to one of my coworkers and he didn't get it either - and aside from dollhouse he seems to have pretty good taste in tv shows - so at least you're not alone. but i too like chris kane better on leverage than i did towards the end of angel.

I know, it's so weird. WHY don't I like it? It is right up my alley, and yet... no.

Maybe it's the hype. I'm very bad about things that have been hyped. I almost never like them.

Apparently Leverage is available via Netflix on its instant watch (via computer) so I'm going to try starting at the beginning of season 1 and see what happens. (The episodes I've seen-- 3 of them, I think-- have all been recent season 2 ones that I just happened to catch on broadcast.)

I never completed my PhD.

I wonder if it's more common in the sciences (not that I know what you were studying, but this is a guess via what I do know of you) since you need the knowledge more than the degree in order to get faboo industry jobs. In the arts, there aren't any industry jobs, so if I don't get the piece of paper, I can't work in my field.

(My current dilemma is my severe lack of motivation to do anything, but that is for another post another day, wheeee.)
