Guess That Yarn!Chester Scene (#6) & General Y!C Updates

Jul 13, 2009 07:12

I guess Friday's scene was too basic of an homage as no one bothered to guess that it was our (mine and Spade's) take on "Heart." (What was most scary about that werewolf was how anatomically correct it seemed to be beneath its too tight molded-on shorts. Yikes.)

Today's scene should be fun, but also easy:

Heee! It's 4.05, "Monster Movie." I love how big the mini-pretzel looks. It's the size of his head! Which is appropriate.

I bought pretzels for the sake of buying pretzels and snacking on them in the car, but then NEEDED to do this scene. But then left the pretzels in TN when I headed to VA. So I had to buy more pretzels. It also induced Spade and I to go around saying, "Big pretzel!" all weekend. Hee.

I knew the Heart one, but I held off because I wanted to let someone else have a chance at it. I guess everyone was out on Friday. And yes, there was some pronounced anatomy on that werewolf... o.O

In other fannish news, I returned to reading Bone Key while at the coffee shop yesterday.

Oh dear. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds like it might make me feel better about my Summergen, or possibly induce ranting. I'll save it 'til after I meet the damn deadline I think, so any ranting I feel compelled to do will be unimpeded. Also, apparently they're getting him to write another one now. Will the madness never end?

I figured that's part of it, yes.

I haven't finished Bone Key yet, but I will say that thus far my ranting has been limited to it being bad writing and unlikeable characters as opposed to massive changes to canon ala John-signed-the-Stanford-papers. (Minor-ish issues with canon, however...) Like usual, I'll put the reviews behind cuts so you can come back and read them (and rant along with me!) when you get a chance to read the book.

Also, apparently they're getting him to write another one now. Will the madness never end?
WHAT?!? NOOOOOOOOOOO. No NONONONONONONONO. Oh fuck no. Fuuuuuck. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?!?!?!?!?! The first two could not have possibly sold well, and there hasn't exactly been any positive feedback for these-- WHY WOULD YOU LET THE MAN WRITE AGAIN?!

I know. They really need to throw it open to general submissions.

I'll be all over the ones you do from the first five discs of Season 1. Just sayin'.

::giggle:: I'll see what I can do. For some reason those don't lend themselves as easily. But I do know of at least one from those discs which will be coming up! Promise!
