Hey Yasmien!
Tof! Weer een paar nieuwe titels van boeken die ik zou kunnen lezen dit jaar! :) Markus Zusak heb ik vorig jaar gelezen. Het is één van mijn lievelingsboeken geworden. Ik herinner me nog dat ik in mijn bedje de laatste bladen aan het lezen was en dat tergelijkertijd de tranen over mijn wangen rolden. Het verhaal van Liesle, de dood en haar joodse vriend hebben me helemaal meegesleept! Walter Moens heb ik ook gelezen, alleen was ik er niet echt weg van...
Nu lees ik Chéri van Colette, maar als dit dun boekje uit is ...ga ik één van jouw ideetjes opschrijven op een blaadje en naar de dichtsbijzijnde bibliotheek "lopen" ;)

Hey Sarah! Leuk dat je me hier gevonden hebt (al vraag ik me wel af hoe ;D)! Markus Zusaks The Book Thief vond ik ook heel indrukwekkend (kan je ook wel zien aan de rating), Walter Moers was ook wel speciaal maar een heel ander genre natuurlijk. Nog een aanrader uit dit lijste is 'What I Was' van Meg Rosoff, een adolescentenromand die echt heel mooi, bijna poëtisch zelfs, geschreven is. En je mag heel binnenkort een mailtje verwachten ;D xx Yasmien
I really loved The Duchess - the costumes were breathtaking! And Keira Knightley's acting is improving on me too (+ Ralph Fiennes was quite good too as the brooding husband type).
I've read quite a couple of McEwan's novels - he's one of my favourite contemporary novelists. A short list: Atonement (absolutely loved it), On Chesil Beach, Amsterdam, Saturday, The Comfort of Strangers, Enduring Love (his second best imo), The Cement Garden and The Child in Time.
It's cute how you dated this at the end of the year, which is pretty good idea I think!
Funny, there's a lot of books on this list that I either recently acquired* or would love to acquire. (Not saying anything about actual reading these books, my book shelves are overflowing as it is and I'm very much behind on all of them.)
*to acquire, v., -quired, -quiring, in relation to books: 1. to obtain through sometimes dubious methods 2. to accumulate whole stacks that sit on the floor through lack of shelving
LOL at the "to accumulate whole stacks that sit on the floor through lack of shelving". It's a phenomenon I quite recognise actually ;D - I'm always buying new books, but my book shelves are already extremely crowded!

I have only read Atonement, so I thought of reading another, I will try Enduring Love if they have it in the library here.
