Someone on Twitter (who likes Matt Damon) posted a tweet about this movie being on a TV channel I didn't recognize, Get TV. It was originally aired on TNT and hails from 1995, so I knew it was pre-Good-Will-Hunting not to mention The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Rainmaker, Saving Private Ryan -- a lot of early Matt before the Bourne and Ocean movies ( Read more... )

That was a better critical review than most supposed critiques give. I love Matt Damon he still has such a cheeky grin that I fell in love with in GWH. Unlike Tom Cruise who I think is a boring actor and in my opinion only managed a couple of good movies Matt seems to change his character completely and you are sucked into his character. If you wondered which two movies I thought Tom was ok in Rainman and Show me the money

Well, thank you, Chris! Of course, I'm not objective because I love Matt Damon too. I remember back when I saw The Martian and realized how much I liked him in that role. It occurred to me that Mark Watney was nothing like Jason Bourne and neither of them were like Linus Caldwell from the Ocean movies. Matt doesn't just play Matt in movies, he changes according to what's needed. I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan either and I think he mainly plays himself. Of course, that doesn't seem to have hurt him, since he's still very popular, but I prefer Matt. And Good Willing Hunting? That's a movie I LOVE! He and Robin Williams were so awesome in that movie. Always makes me cry. :)

You're welcome, Donna! I couldn't believe that Sam Shepard died just days after I saw him in this movie. Such a loss. He did some great work. And it was wonderful to see him with Tommy Lee Jones, whom I've always loved! It's a lovely movie. :)
