I'm french and used to live in Paris. For groceries shopping there are many places you can go like Monoprix, Leclerc, Carrefour Markets...discount stores like Ed or Leader Price. And there are many of what is called "épiceries arabes" which are small groceries stores that stay open when most stores are closed like on sundays or late evenings.
Hello ! Some groceries are also called "epiceries fines" : in these stores you'll find more expensive (and good) products, french or from the world. Some groceries are specialized : wine + bread + cheese (because the three together, it's heaven !) for exemple. If you use "epicerie fine paris" on google pictures, you'll see some lovely places.
