Hey Eileen!

I can't help with any of your questions, but there are three communities you may want to try.

One is Linguaphiles http://linguaphiles.livejournal.com/

And Little Details http://little-details.livejournal.com/

Third is The Question Club http://thequestionclub.livejournal.com/

Hope this helps.

I'm french and used to live in Paris. For groceries shopping there are many places you can go like Monoprix, Leclerc, Carrefour Markets...discount stores like Ed or Leader Price. And there are many of what is called "épiceries arabes" which are small groceries stores that stay open when most stores are closed like on sundays or late evenings.

Thank you! I really appreciate that. Looks like I'll go with a small grocery story, which will work well in the story. Much appreciated. :)

Hello !
Some groceries are also called "epiceries fines" : in these stores you'll find more expensive (and good) products, french or from the world.
Some groceries are specialized : wine + bread + cheese (because the three together, it's heaven !) for exemple.
If you use "epicerie fine paris" on google pictures, you'll see some lovely places.
