On writing.

So one of my classes this semester is "Intro to non-fiction writing." This is my first non-required ENGL class, and I think I'm going to enjoy it immensely. The professor is a tad flighty, and has three more cats than me, but the people in the class seem fun and the assignments are pretty interesting. One of the first things I had to read for the ( Read more... )

my boring life, school, writing

that class sounds like so much fun! i'm hoping i can meet some of the right people and sneak my way into a writing class while i'm at berkeley. it seems like it's really hard to get into them, but it also seems like it would be a real shame not to be able to take at least one while i'm here.

yay creative non-fiction! it's my favorite style of writing :)

Yeah, i'm pretty excited about the class. That, and Mason apparently has one of the best (graduate level) writing programs in the country. So when I finish my BA if i'm still in job limbo and the housing market sucks, I can persue a masters in writing (which is really just a masters in "getting published") so...

can you take any of those graduate level courses as an undergrad?

i was just recently told that i can do that at cal... if i ask nicely and do well in my undergrad courses first. which would be amazing since their graduate program in my major is like 3rd in the country.

you should look into it!

Yes, I think I can. They do cost more, and you're bumped before grad students, but they do let you in. I think I'm going to look into it closer toward the end of my degree, after this semester I still only have about 85 credits, so I've still got some time to go. I will probly take my thesis class next fall & spring, then to master's level stuff after that. Maybe... Haha, we'll see.

mistaken identity. anonymous August 28 2008, 17:58:16 UTC
it couldn't have been him as i read no description of a horses ass.
he is a bracelet thief. he would have been loitering outside a jewelery store at that time of night.
remember he has never changed so you can smell him.
as for neo he's into cat action, matrix m.t.v. awards blatently painful.
his head is huge so he can only be at outside events.
so i'm sorry it appears you mis-sighted.
somebody went overboard last night on the keanu reeves keanu reeves is so good looking that's all.
but as i look lisa bonet & i'm way prettier i will concede he has good arms. hence he steals braclets.

What else would you expect from a creative non-fiction professor ;)?

That's my genre- have fun with it and if you want some feedback, let me know. I love editing.

Well, its already been turned in... but feedback is always helpfull! maybe about writing style, etc, not mechanics. I'm really still trying to find my voice, here.
