Oh, I really liked this. The way you use the image of the acupuncture needles to build up a picture of Hua Tuo's character is wonderfully done, and I like how you equate Hua Tuo's desire to try and cure the woes of the country by curing the physical person of Cao Cao. That's such a powerful image, and it's so true to Hua Tuo's calling as a doctor as well. The tension between Cao Cao and Hua Tuo, of them not being able to trust each other, but each unable to really walk away, makes everything that much more resonant, I think.

Thank you :D I watched RC2 yesterday and paid much more attention to Hua Tuo than usual and he really is the only man who continually says 'no' to Cao Cao. Not that Cao Cao listens to him, of course *roll eyes* I think (especially in ancient times) the power associated with being a doctor must have been quite heady, the idea that you could do a greater good by doing something bad or at least against the will of a patient. So ummm I guess the kink aspect here was really powerplay rather than needleplay! Oh well, I blame SuJu XDDD
