Unemployment is confusing

I am so bored without a job, but unfortunately for a bunch of different reasons can't have one right now. Sarah had her baby, or as Lael refers to it, "the nose". I haven't gotten to see her yet, but with any luck after today's harrowing attempts the car will be back on the road tomorrow.. *cross fingers ( Read more... )

Holy crap! You should TOTALLY come and work for Heritage Christian Services! I think you would be really great working with adults with developmental disabilities. I've been working there for 6 months now and have loved it. Pay is not too bad either, starting at 10.30 an hour with really good (and inexpensive!) health care. And BTW, HOW ARE YOU? It has been a very long time since last we spoke. I hope you are doing well:)

Okay, so this is their website... http://www.heritagechristianservices.org/ There are something like 50 homes throughout the Rochester and Buffalo areas (mostly Rochester, and that is where the first home was started) as well as different day programs for the residents to attend during the week (they even have their own stables, which I'm sure you could imagine I would LOVE to work at, as well as a farm out near Brockport). The job includes taking care of adults with developmental disabilities which means helping them with anything from their most basic needs to encouraging independence and growth. I have been super happy working here, although sometimes their Christian spirit or whatever does become a bit much. They are pretty open though and are one of the most highly respected organizations of it's kind in the state and definitely in the area. You can apply online or in person at their office in East Rochester (I would recommend doing it in person, though). I ( ... )
