Oh, it just keeps getting better and better. We'll continue from my last entry on the saga of just how stupidly catty my family is proving itself to be.

You know something? I never talk to my mom. I message her every 4-5 months or so, give her a greeting for her birthday, but otherwise she never contacts me unless she needs some information or something, and I don't exactly go way out of my way to contact her, either. That's just how we've always been, moreso now that she's whoring around with her douchebag boyfriend that I obviously don't like. And the world isn't coming screeching to a bloody halt ( ... )

I'm sure the mothers bent the daughters' ears. It sounds about right.
They probably still don't see that them making demands of you is as selfish as they have accused you of being.

I don't often post here on LJ anymore - and even less on your blog, because let's be honest: we don't know each other that well.

However.

I hate this sort of thing. I hate it when members of family MAGICALLY DECIDE that they get to make decisions like this - without consulting you - and then have the sheer audacity to get pissy when you're not entirely keen on their plans. It's your life. It's your first baby. You bet your ass you're entitled to say how you do and don't want this done.

Yes, it's nice(if for the wrong reasons)that they want to give you a shower, but as a new parent, who's already under enough stress? They should respect your decision, not to mention your wants and desires.

And in the worlds of my immortal mother: "If they don't like it? They'll get the hell over it."
