Max' Instagram the other day confirmed the character I thought he would play - Ollie. He's one of Cole's good friends and part of the group who always hangs out together. His character does have a certain "function" but tbh I'm not comfortable saying what at this point since it's pretty spoiler-y. Perhaps he will reveal it himself in an interview or their marketing material will but I'm not sure they want to give it away. The only thing I'm going to say right now is that the movie and the character fit quite a number of clichés and stereotypes, so you might be able to guess.
