A few other things: There's a new, but really very similar, international poster here.

I quite like the first tv spot. And I'm pleasantly surprised that they already started with them. Neighbors has been going so well on all fronts so far... such a nice experience.

There's something about Zac in a uniform with a long phallic instrument in his hand that makes me hot and bothered.

PS: You know you've been reading too much theory when you read Zac is selling his case study house and immediately think, "I wonder if Freud saw his patients there?"

"Zac is selling his case study house"

By the way, there's a spectacular tour of the old place here:

"April 28 at 6:30pm at Regency Village in Westwood "

When once again Zac gets to sit next to his mom while he does vulgar and depraved stuff up on the screen. She'll probably give him dildos for Christmas this year.

:)) If I'm not mistaken, Zac said that his father would watch the movie.

I'm sure he will. But there's no way that a mom wouldn't see her son's new movie. And in the past, she has shown a pretty good attitude about such things ("That's my boy!"). I just think that if I were Zac, I'd be squirming in my seat when the dildos come out.

I'd go see it if it were my son, I would just cover my eyes at the nude parts (I really don't want to see my son in the buff) and sexual parts. It'd be very awkward.

I'm stoked that it looks like the movie is going to be a big hit!

"They peg it at opening at $34 million"

Please, please, please.

"- Zac Efron's performance should shock audiences who still see him as a teen heartthrob, and you can't put a price on that kind of buzz."

That's why I'm hoping this is a big hit. We are far enough out from HSM, and Zac has matured enough, so that if millions of people see this movie, they will receive a whole new impression of Zac. Neighbors could be the reset button on his career. Plus, of course, a movie that opens at $34 million will perk up some ears and flare some nostrils in the studio executive suites.

I definitely think this movie could be a success. Adult comedies really seem to be hot right now. And Seth Rogen is pretty much the king of this genre. However, I wouldn't exactly call this a "mature" role... I think The Lucky One was his most mature role. It also happens to be my favorite of his movies, so I am a little biased.

Sorry, I didn't say the role was mature, I said Zac has matured (although, as he admitted, Zac and the character he was playing had a lot of similarities at the time).

What I'm getting at is, Zac no longer looks like the teen in HSM. It was easy for a lot of people to maintain the HSM image as long as he looked like the HSM character. That doesn't work so well anymore (but I do miss that long hair flopping in his eyes).

Yeah, I know what you meant, and I agree. He's definitely matured in real life a lot. I wish he would pick roles that were more serious in order to reflect that. Basically, I think a movie like this is beneath him. Its too low brow for someone as talented, matured, and experienced as him.

Well I fucking give up.

It's clear he has no intentions of staying sober, and this sober/clean story is just a work of fiction sold by his PR to rehabilitate his image.

So, to whom it may concern, don't sell this bullshit to me anymore. I 'm not buying it. He's an active addict /drunk who's now scoring on Skid Row. Next up, the morgue and then the graveyard. You might as well "come clean" that he's not "clean".

i am in the process of making a post and trying to make coherent my feelings but it's taking awhile... esp since my fucked up sleep schedule meant i didn't even see all this drama till forever into the day. so i'm freezing this thread till after my post is made, because i'd like to direct comments into there.

but i do want to say, with all due respect and you are welcome to give up... but what do you really expect of an addict? they relapse. that's life. PR or no. i'm surprised this is a surprise or that it causes such a violent negative emotion. also, is it any surprise that he'd want to keep this stuff private? not just for PR reasons but because it impacts his career and more importantly his actual life. would you want all your business out there for everyone to read? but following him, it is clear he is struggling yes but he is trying.
