The Paperboy Release

According to Variety, Millenium Films will release The Paperboy on October 5th. This is a guess but I think there is a good chance they will screen it as sort of a premiere during the New York Film Festival which runs September 28 to October 14. Hopefully we'll get a trailer soon!

hm... I finished reading TIWIL and I wanted to talk about it with someone who also read the book. Is it okay to do it here?

Anyway, I'm not sure if Adam is the right person to turn it into a movie. And I think all characters will be underdeveloped except for Jason's. It sucks because all of them have interesting stories (I especially liked Paul and Judd's relationship. So fucked up lol)

[Spoiler (click to open)]and, god, another older woman? I hope it will be someone amazing but... yeah.

I hope I'm wrong about everything. I don't know anything about the script so maybe all of them will have a fair share of screen time and I hope they cut somethings from the book because it would just be too much
lol.

I'm all about giving people chances, so I'm not to down on Adam, plus the author the script so it should stay true to the book, which I'm in love with.

idk why I kept forgetting about the YOU in the title lmao. TIWILYYYYYYY. anyway

Idk how I feel about this tbh. Writing a book is different from writing a script. Hopefully he will be great. If he is willing to make the necessary changes to turn into a good movie, then there is no problem there.

Anda Adam, well. Apart from Hairspray, the only movie he directed and I liked is Bringing Down the House and that is a total guilty pleasure lmao But he got Zac a job, what is always great :P

"I'm all about giving people chances"

I think it is very ironic that we are all fans of an actor whose whole career has been based on people giving him chances. Zac was technically unqualified to be given the lead in High School Musical, but Kenny Ortega saw the potential and took a chance (a big one!) on him. Adam Shankman passed on Zac at his first audition for Hairspray but was convinced to reconsider and called him back.

So maybe Adam will blow it. But in all fairness, he ought to be given the chance. Maybe this is the kind of movie he was born to direct but he has never been given this kind of project. We'll see.

Thanks for the news! :)

And I'm wondering, what about the "At Any Price"? Bahrani will go to the Venice Film Festival?

This goes along with your question, sort of, what is ADR?

ADR stands for Automated Dialogue Replacement and is used to record audio after filming is finished. Mostly because the sound quality might be not good enough or some dialogue has been changed slightly. It's 100% normal for basically all movies.
