This has to be the first movie were the reviews, whether they're positive or negative have boosted my interest in the film. This film has to get an American distributor or I might burst from anticipation. Also I'm glad it's going over well woth audiences, the good word of mouth will certainly be helpful.
Wait, is it getting positive reactions from audiences? One review mentioned it's a commercial film and it may be well-received by audiences, but I'm not sure. I think the standing ovation at the screening after premiere has more to do with audiences showing respect to the director and the cast, than showing their suport for the film. :(
Well I've seen some positive things from non-critics who've seen the film, and they don't always give standing ovations at the premiere. Quite a few have actually been booed, so the fact that they got a 10-15 minute standing o has to be more than just them respecting the crew. Also I'm seeing more positive critical reviews too.
No kidding. I'd like to have the contract to market this movie in North America. Even its supposed defects can be used to intrigue the potential audience. If they manage to screw this one up, it will be sign of the Apocolypse.
