It's not on the festival play list. But Cannes is the largest international market for movie sales to distributors, so this is where it happens. If Zac is there, it could help. ("Buy our movie for distribution in Argentina and I'll call your daughter on her birthday!")
I'm wondering, though, whether they are rushing sales on the basis of the director, cast, and a rough cut. Since they were doing re-shoots just last week, the final cut can't be ready. I guess I'm just surprised they didn't screen it at a festival somewhere before starting to flog it to distributors. Or maybe it's easier to sell a movie *before* anyone has seen it, ha ha.
Actors have normally little to do with sales of international territories. I'm not saying he might not pop by at a party of the seller (if they have one) or say hello since he's already there but I doubt it will beyond that. Not even Christine Vachon (who is one of the main producers) is in Cannes.
And selling of international territories happens all the times without even having started filming. Idk if they will screen footage to prospective buyers (it's possible but if I had to guess more likely with a sizzle reel or some scenes and not a cut of the full movie) or sell it unseen but it means nothing in terms of movie quality.
nah, it's basically a private picture, esp since it wasn't like a normal fans waiting on set type of thing... so i won't post it unless i feel it is special enough to make an exception to the rule.
and i'm sure it was easier to stay with a family for several reasons but maybe most of all it kept people from bugging them like they were at the motels there.
