My parents are strange. They caught sight of my ZE wallpaper and argued that I shouldn't like Zac b/c he's young enough to be my son if I were a young teenage momma, and that guys who like older women are just gigolos for the money, it's never about love, etc.
And I just stared at them like they had grown horns. First, my chances of meeting Zac are about the same as being invited on the next Space Shuttle Mission. Secondly, the chances of Zac liking me are about the same as me being the second coming of Jesus. I hold no illusions.
Why, then, does it matter? He's my muse, my inspiration...but they are practical people with no interest in literature, art, etc, and I am a giant recessive gene from prehistoric times come back to haunt the bloodline...the proof of atavism.
Now that's an excellent question. But, to quote Otto Leipzig in Smiley's People: "You know what we said in the camps; questions are never dangerous, only the answers."
If I were a young, attractive female, I would definitely let that happen. But as someone once said about the Holy Roman Empire, I am neither attractive, nor young, nor female.
So why are we here, commenting on his shoes and hair? I don't know. Maybe I don't want to know.
