I wonder: Are these mobs of shrieking girls a blessing or a curse? A little of both, of course, but I think on balance they are detrimental to Zefron's career.
Being this kind of celebrity is good because it means he can get booked on the top talk shows when other actors of the same age and status can't. But I think that the critics will never take him seriously as long as this phenomenon lasts. It will be assumed that he's just a heartthrob, not an artist. It's too intellectually complex to think that he could be both.
It's amazing how big a deal this premiere is in Adelaide... they were short of live broadcasting the red carpet in the actual news. It's cute though. :)
