"I like philosophy." Pwwwahhh-hah-hah! Sure you do. I bet you like modal logic and quantum physics too, rotflmao.

Ultimately, all philosophy boils down to one debate that is as old as the pre-Socratic thinkers Heroclitus and Parmenides. Being versus Becoming. Being is Plato, religion, spirit, form, eternity, infinity, life, meaning, purpose, fate and morality. Becoming is Aristotle, atheism, agnosticism, body, matter, temporality, death, meaninglessness, purposelessness and non-morality. Being is absolute; becoming is contingent.

Being says there's something beyond all this; I have obligations, ethical and moral duties, my freedom is limited to these ends.

Becoming says there is only this here and now; I have no obligations, ethical or moral duties except that which I chooose to adopt for myself; I have absolute freedom because there is no accountability.

Actually, I recall that he read a book with some kind of philosophical content that one of his directors gave/recommended to him, so there could be some truth in his statement. I was just thrilled to learn that he read a book, that his life isn't all video games and blaring music.

Oooh goodie! Thanks for that. Zac wearing glasses while reading a book is virtual foreplay.

I mean his brother is in college and most of his hometown friends went to college, so it's not that surprising that Zac said that tbqh

Forgive me - my mind is hyperactive this morning -

a tip for our bel homme: if someone says something of which you have little knowledge, ask questions. This serves two purposes: 1) you appear genuinely interested in that person and their expertise, which will ingratiate you to them 2) you learn a smattering of that subject, which you can use later in a conversation with someone with the same interest.

The interrogative is the last refuge of the terminally shy.

i don't mean this rudely but are you seriously assessing his conversation skills on a crazy ass taxi ride filled mostly with people who aren't fluent in the same language as him? in english he's fine. in portuguese... asi, asi ;)

He was fine...the philosophy major, however, seemed quiet and resistant to Zac's charms. (-;

I'll be damned, he finally displayed his reputed juggling skills (though I can't say I'm impressed).

But to answer some previous questions, implied or explicit, Zac says, "I'm good at everything."

This drive-by celebrity schtick reminds me of that guy in Barcelona a year ago, who got on an elevator and found himself face to face with Zac Efron, who was pub-crawling across Europe after wrapping the Bahrani project. "Unexpected" was the guy's first remark, then they had some lame conversation for the rest of the ride. Don't be caught short! The next time you push an elevator button or hail a cab, be prepared for the unexpected. I'm ready, Unexpected Zac isn't going to flummox me, I've got my reaction prepared.

Yeah, it was at this point in the video the other people in the car had difficulty breathing (and Zac's head ceased to fit within the limitations of my computer screen.) (-;

It was also here that I wanted someone to ask "are you good at being humble?" (-;

Parried.

I love Zac, even with (and probably partially because of) his cockiness.

If that was being cocky, then every person I know is cocky.
