From pajiba (via jeezbee):
Back in February we announced that Warner Brothers had optioned Ally Carter’s Heist Society, to be written for the screen by Shauna Cross (Whip It). Today, the Hollywood Cog informs me that Blake Lively and Zac Efron have expressed interest in the roles to Warners. Here’s the funny part: Back in February, in a comment ( Read more... )

IDK if I can see this happening. He and Blake would be a hilariously not cute couple (height difference, general look, etc), but I don't even think they'd get cast aside one other, tbh.

IDK, PASS.

ia, i don't know that i think they'd look good together or play off each other well.

but i'm guessing they are coming to the project separately so it isn't like they will necessarily star together. he could get it and she not, or vice versa.

so if it wasn't her, if it was someone more like emma stone or mary elizabeth winstead... what would you say?

OK IF IT WERE EMMA STONE STARRING OPPOSITE HIM, I'D BE DOWN FOR ANYTHING LOL. But I guess in the long run, I think this sounds OK? But I'm kind of not super intrigued! That said I'm for anything that isn't a straight up romance at this point.

i think emma would be perfect for this tbh. ofc i haven't read the book/script so that could change my mind.

the project for me sounds like rather commercial but not in a bad way. like it could be suspenseful and fun and clever. so a good chance to be successful box office wise (across new demographics too) but also well-receieved critically.

plus ngl i like the idea of him being a suave, fit thief dude.

The book kind of annoyed me, but I think it'd be less annoying if the characters were older (a lot of my issues were that the teens did not act like any teens I've ever known), so, this could be good? OKish? Perhaps?

I dunno. It's Shakespeare next to Nicholas Sparks.

i hate it when stories have characters that obviously function outside their ages, it's so lazy. i'm going to read the book just cause it sounds easy and sort of fun. and i don't have enough to read with all my school work, lol.

i liked whip it and jeezbee reminded me this writer was on the black list a couple of years ago (which means something but not a whole lot just cause black list movies can still end up sucking). at any rate i'm really curious to see where this goes. i love ocean's 11 and the italian job so if it is cool like those, i'm all for it.

It's totally fun and actiony. I guess I'm just more into character stuff than actiony? I write YA and I'd rather people sitting around talking about their feelings in books. HA. Sad but true!

Though he would probably be very fine in the role I would want another leading lady.

TH
hat's just how people would in the press would refer to is "Zac and one of the bimbo's from Gossip Girls" I'm so tired of seeing Zac with these unknown wannabes (and I'm, sorry but Blake is not exactly a great actress actually some question whether she's an actress at all).

I want to see him with one of the really respected young actresses out there Abbie, Carrie, Rachel, Anne, oscar winning Anna P etc I think he's up to it and I think he dereves it
