Our new addition

So we went to the SPCA yesterday and picked out a kitten. We got to pick her up today (she had to be spayed) and she is very active and very loving. She's also a purrbox. You can seriously hear her across the room, and she's only 2 lbs. We've named her Nala, which seems to fit because she loves to attack things, especially feathers.

*laugh* Just what you need - another spaz-kitty. And I have to say, Nala looks like trouble with that first pic, as if she's saying, 'you can trust me... Really!' ;) I hope that she and Riku get along well, especially when getting Riku a friend was the whole point.

Well, Riku's definitely not sure about her. But since all she's doing is hissing, hopefully she'll chill out soon. Nala backs off when Riku hisses at her, so there haven't been any major spats yet. And yes, Tim will be sure to let me know *I* picked this one out when she gets spazzy.

whatever you do, don't introduce shoe laces as a toy. Shadow's preferred toy is shoe laces...so much so that he generally shuns official cat type toys. he's a cheap kitty.

Riku is 6, almost exactly. It'll probably be a little weird at home for a few days while she figures out she's still Queen of the manor, but now she has another subject.

Hmm more like a second in command for assistance in ruling over the human creatures of the household ;) I'm sure they'll be fine after Nala is taught her place a few times.

Tim cut her claws slightly after these pictures were taken, because she was using them to climb up my pants.

Riku's favorite toys are these Sesame Street scrunchies that Target has once a year for $1. Since that has six of them in it, she's a pretty cheap kitty too. :) She'll fetch them for you if she feels like it.

Capt'n Bonabel Blackfur the (not-so) Dreaded Lap Pirate would like to take this oppurtunity to thank and congratulate you for adopting a black cat, as both she and I feel they don't get the adoration they deserve.

She's a cutie-pie! I hope she gets along well with Riku and that you all have many happy years together. :]
