I recently joined the EGL community and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers as to how to identify if my dress is an authentic AP dress?

The dress in question is Angelic Pretty's Chess Emblem OP in red and white. It has been my dream dress for five years now and I was able to purchase it from fril.jp pre-owned. The ( Read more... )

Unclear print would include things like the colors in the print not matching perfectly, like the outline being a little to the left of the fill color for instance, or it can mean the edges of the design aren't crisp and sharp but somewhat blurred - like a picture of a movie on a TV.

Sloppy stitching can result in seams or hems that are uneven, bunched up and/or don't lay flat when worn. Look at the seams on the inside of the garment, are they fraying? Do they look neat, well-finished, even and straight? Are there a lot of loose threads?

Bad lace is most easily identified by the way it feels. It's often described as scratchy. Does the lace feel stiff? Is it unpleasant against your skin or does it stick out from the garment? Does it feel crunchy when you sit on it or press on it?

I hope that gives you a bit more insight. I hope you can settle your mind and enjoy your dress!

Thank you for the specifications! All the stitching and hems look even, and the inside of the garment is very smooth and neat (no loose threads because there's a lining on the inside of the dress). The lace also feels very soft. The only thing I'm unsure about is the print, as it is a little blurry in some places and rather crisp in others (but I think it's likely due to the linen-like material of the dress). I feel more settled now and understand what signs to look for in the future. Again thank you very much! :)
