My "ah-ha!" moment was when I saw a (classic) Lolita for the first time in real life. I already knew the style somewhat from social media (OTT sweet was popular), but seeing that unknown style right in front of me was like a slap in the face and I thought "Why have I been wearing jeans all my life when something like that exists?!"

I think my big moment was seeing a hime lolita coord for the first time. I was super into hime gyaru before I got into lolita, but the skirts were a bit too short for my liking. Knowing that there was a frillier, fancier style of lolita out there made me realize that I wanted to get into the fashion.

As a boy I was always kind of shy to get into the fashion, but seeing the AatP/Baby shop in San Francisco and getting my first GLB in the same trip really pushed me to start wearing lolita. So happy I took the plunge!

A scan of some pages of Gothic Lolita bible, That was catched me was some outfits from Victorian Maiden and Innocent World, especially the headwear and shoes. Years after the first headpiece I got, was the same fur headdress as VM's model wore(colour and everything).
-I guess it is about 7-8 years old now(maybe older), the entrance is not on lolibrary and the only colours I know exists is Ivory and dark brown. I really want to own the other colourway, because I only have the brown.
Also it is a little wth-is-going-on item, because it is looks like collar then it is not worn but too short to be one.
