So I wanted to put together a basic and inexpensive coord around an Alice in Wonderland theme. I'm basing it around Bodyline's Playing Cards OP (l518) in Sax. ( Read more... And a collage! )
I LOVE this idea! Absolutely love it. But a few questions about the card fan. How were you planning on making it? Will it open and close? What design on the back of the cards and why pink and gold (I can't see what's on the dress, sorry)? Also, would the roses be a headpiece? If so, you could perhaps throw some cards in, as like a base. Make it a fascinator.
So the fan won't open and close (too technical for me) but I was going to use standard playing cards and paint the backside pink to match the pink roses on the dress and add gold key motif on top. The roses will be a headpiece, I'll definitely consider the playing card fascinator.
The bodyline pics are terrible to try to use in a collage. I wish they would get better stock photos.
The fan sounds like a great idea, and the motif sounds like it'll be a pretty one! Good luck! And I completely agree about their stock photos. Every site should have shots of each colorway separately, I think.
Agreed. Should you be interested in slightly better pics of this dress there are some I found via google images they just wouldn't work for the collage.
They are from Dansko. They aren't the exact same style I have but are very close. I own several of their shoes and can highly recommend them in both the comfort and durability arenas. Totally worth the money and some of them fit Lolita really well.
I think the clock bag would bring out more of the whole theme of the coord and would be a better choice for it. But the white from the bag might over power the overall darkness of the dress (if that makes any sense). It might also tie into the tights and the shoes at the same time too depending on how you look at it. The heart bag would defiantly go with the dress though, so depending on if you want it to be more representative of the whole alice and wonderland theme (which it seems you do) I would look into the clock bag. Just my two cents on this~
I definitely like both. But there are no clocks on the print of the dress and it may be less usable for future coords? It still fits the theme though so... By the way I am getting the sax color way not the black, Bodyline just has crappy stock photos.

On the other hand, there's also a black clock bag here (http://www.my-lolita-dress.com/mufish-alice-s-clock-sweet-lolita-bag-mf-30) for $22 plus shipping.
