Lolitas Behaving Badly

Dec 04, 2014 23:15

I ran into a young lady on FB who utterly despised the rules surrounding Lolita, and there was some palpable bitterness in her words. It came to light that she had been publically assaulted by her local comm, because her Wa-Lolita coordinate was made of 'shiny' material. Apparently, she had eggs thrown at her by the other girls back in 2009, and ( Read more... )

How absolutely disgusting of them. As a shy person, things like this are the reason why I will probably never try and find a nearby community. Eggs though??! EGGS??? Because her dress was too SHINY?!?!? I can understand why she would no longer want anything to do with Lolita after such a horrific experience. I hope that one day she plucks up the courage to report this to the police. That poor girl...

Do the people in that community just carry raw eggs to every meetup? If it's true, it's awful. I've seen my fair share of generic cattiness, but nothing like that!

As an aspiring fashion designer I've, read up and looked into a lot of different kinds of fashion worlds. Unfortunately,  those "mean girls" are everywhere not just in lolita. That is insane. If that happened to myself or anyone else at a meetup, I think I would call the police. I've honestly never heard of anyone intentionally damaging another person's clothes except for a secret a while back that said someone squirted ketchup on another person's brand dress after they were rude to them. I don't usually follow any sort of drama groups, so maybe there have been lots of stories, but I've been doing this for a decade, so if that's all I've heard of, I don't think this sort of thing is remotely common.
