Unlike quick historical notes that we usually use in 101 panels at convention, I want to put my focus in creating a panel, narrating important changes in lolita fashion from 2000 to 2014. I take apart each year and ( Read more... )

I love the English GLBs, I've still got all 5. I was really disappointed when they stopped them as the quality was really going up at the end.

I loved them too! I think I'm only missing one of them. They were really such a cool thing to have!

You should make a revised list! I only joined lolita around 2008 and reading the blog post made me realize how many things I missed and now that you listed vaguely all the things you forgot, I'm kinda itching for more.

I made a short video about 2013 Lolita trends if that helps?

Also maybe talk about Lolita's emergence in different media forms such as Tumblr, Television, Movies, Manga, and Youtube.
Maybe also popular Lolita icons (mainly from Tumblr or Blogspot) such as Cadney, Lovelylor, and Electric Space Carousel.

I am doing a similar panel about trends and reoccurring themes in lolita this weekend at a local convention. It's very interesting to dig into the fashions past and remember how things have changed since the "Hot Topic" days.

Wish I had more to add. I come and go from the comm, so it's hard for me to set a good timeline or anything like that. Most of the major things I noticed were pretty basic, headdress changes, giant headpieces, more accessories as time went on, the switch from solids to prints...ha, on that note, I love going to MM's website because everything looks precisely like it did when I found them in 2007 or so. Solids in impeccable cuts! Anyway, I'm sure you already have most of this in your 100+ slides (impressive!), but I thought I'd throw in my thoughts, just in case. I also love all of milkteamilk's examples, if there was anything else I would've mentioned it'd be what she said! The hot topic dress and Fruits in particular. I got into lolita because of Fruits! And Kamikaze Girls/the GLB as well, naturally ( ... )
