Otakon tea party 2012
If you're going to Otakon next weekend, please join us for...
The lolita tea party that happened during last year's Otakon was a lot of fun (see the original post here and a little review here), so I wanted to try it again but with a gothic theme this time! We'll have tea, a coordinate contest, a gift exchange, and a chance to get away from the commotion of the convention center and enjoy some elegance before the long weekend really starts.
Date: Friday, July 27th, 2012
Time: 1 pm. The tea will take approximately 2 hours.
Location: The Explorer's Lounge in the Royal Sonesta Hotel (formerly known as the InterContinental Harbor Court), which is just a short walk from the Baltimore Convention Center.
Dress Code: Gothic looks encouraged, whether they're lolita, ega, dolly-kei, h.Naoto, morigirl, etc. This is a formal event, though, so no casual outfits. Dress to impress!
Food: The hotel's Traditional Tea consists of scones, petit fours, finger sandwiches, and a variety of delicious teas (including Vintage Darjeeling-Black, Chamomile, Earl Grey, and Wedding tea). See the Brightons website and their afternoon tea menu for more information. Vegetarians can be easily accommodated if you just let me know when reserving your seat.
Cost: $30 per seat (cost includes tea, tax, and tip).

Coordinate contest: Show off your best gothic style and enter the coordinate contest! Tea party attendees will vote on their favorite coordinate and the person with the most votes will receive a prize.
Gift exchange: All attendees must bring a little wrapped gift to exchange. Some sample gift ideas are loose leaf tea, candy, a book, an accessory or trinket, stationery, etc-- just keep the price of the gift around $10. Nicely handmade gifts welcome.

THE RESERVATION LIST IS NOW FULL! Unfortunately, there is only room for 25 people, but I can take names for a waitlist in case anyone on the reservation list wants to cancel a seat. Just comment below if you would like to add your name to the waitlist.

If you reserve a seat but then discover you can't attend the event, you may cancel your seat anytime before July 25th and I'll refund your money. Any cancellations after July 25th cannot be refunded because the number of attendees will be set at that point.

Chicken curry salad with mango on multi-grain bread
Cucmber with lemon citron butter and sun-dried cranberry
Smoked salmon with boursin cheese topped with crab sala
Selection of pastries -
Traditional tea cookies
Fruit tart
Pistachio butter cookies
Chocolate covered strawberries
White chocolate mousse with dark chocolate shavinf and chiffonade of candy orange peel
