I don't think I would have bid on something like a "lucky pack" but when someone has 780+ positives I definitely would have overlooked some negatives and bought their items. I wonder why the negatives describe "horrible" transactions while there are also so many good ones? I'm not doubting that the items might be dirty but I guess if there really is no way to dispute issues or protect against retaliation then people might default to "good" transaction ratings?
Oh okay! I'm sorry I didn't realize you were a SS. If she filed a claim against the SS but the SS had no way of getting the money from the seller it wouldn't really solve the problem but create another victim D:
That makes sense... ugh... well thank you for the updated warning then! If/When i create a list I will definitely add Strobolights in there :( It is super annoying there is no real protection. I guess its better we are learning more about the site though!
Sorry to be nitpicky but this is an international community so a list of 'problem foreign sellers' makes no sense. I think what you mean is a list of problem yahoo/mbok sellers?
XD Yes of course. At 4am I equated 'foreign' to a seller not on egl here and not necessarily foreign as in the country or location of the seller. I will make it more clear
I don't remember names, but I have had problem sellers twice. Once was on a group of jewelry I bid on, in which case the seller shipped waaaay late. Basically I emailed saying 'you haven't paid, I want the stuff or a refund, or I will report you.' They responded and sent it out, but it took a while, maybe a month after the auction ended. They said they'd include an extra gift and didn't but oh well
( ... )
mBok and Y!J both offer automatic relisting, though I don't know if the price will automatically change.
As for SS protections, I think it depends on the service. Since smaller services have more at stake, I've noticed they are more likely to use a method by which their buyers can get a refund (as lacetreasures mentioned up above). I use a larger SS (Noppin) and they also offer a program where you can get refunded (up to a certain amount) if the seller fails to send something. Celga doesn't offer protection but you can request they pay through COD, meaning they won't charge until they receive the item
( ... )
Celga actually refunded me when an mbok seller never sent my item - but only after I bothered them about it and threatened them a whole lot (because it wasn't the first time I'd had an issue with Celga).
Wow, that's great! Their policy says they don't offer refunds so it's good to know that you were able to get your money back.
I've had issues with them too, though ;A; I only use them if I want to bid on something relatively urgently and don't mind shelling out for shipping; I find their service to be lackluster and they always ridiculously overcharge for shipping (my last package, according to them, contained a dress and an apron and weighed 12 pounds).
I actually got them to partially refund me on shipping once after overcharging me too LOL. I was a pain in the butt customer when I used them ;P I'm sure they're happy I've moved on hahaha.
