Fantasy Sheep Wigs?

Aug 07, 2011 19:30

I've seen Fantasy Sheep Wigs being discussed here before, and I've mostly heard good things about them (except for things not related to quality, like shipping time/delays). However, this past month or so I spotted a number of egl users saying the wigs don't look the same IRL as they do online, they're thin, etc etc. I had been planning on placing ( Read more... )

store: fantasy sheep, beauty: hair/wigs

Oh, good. Thankfully I'm not interested in the long ones. Thank you! ^^

I've had good experience with fantasy sheep in the past. It took, if I remember correctly, almost 3 weeks to get to me (USA) I agree with the person above, the longer ones do kinda tangle a bit. I have the bob with the clip in pigtails. I'll upload a pic in a few minutes on my journal, if you want to see.

I don't think I've ever seen that wig before on their site... It's cute!

I have got three wigs in total from Fantasy sheep and I love every single one of the wigs. I will let you know that you do have to trim/cut them even if they say they are cut to a certain style.

Why do you have to trim/cut them? Do you mean the bangs?

The two I ordered looked identical to the stock photos, but that was about six months back now. Their shipping times/service delays have been going on since last fall, but I haven't heard anything recently to indicate that their quality has changed, though. Mind linking me to where these reviews/discussions are? I'm curious, since I was considering ordering from them again in the future, but probably wouldn't want to waste my money if their quality is degrading.

They were just comments I came across, one in a thread about wigs in general, but to be honest, I didn't save the links. If I come across them, I'll let you know, but they didn't make it sound like they were STARTING to get bad. More like the users in particular had never liked their wigs, y'know?

Personally I quite like their wigs, but there are some things you need to be careful about.

Here's my personal experience pros and cons:
Pros:
-Shorter to medium length wigs are fantastic, thick, easily stylable
-Fibers are soft and look natural
-Wigcaps aren't tiny like most Chinese wig brands
-Very good prices, like $16 USD for a shorter wig up to maybe $30 for longer wig
-They will ship directly to you if you email your order, so you don't have to pay SS fees or ebay markup

Cons:
-Longer wigs can be thin or tangle easily
-Colors are almost always about 2 shades darker than pictured

There's some good information about them on cosplay.com, if I can find the thread I had in mind I will link it.

Oh, I heard about that color thing. 2-3 shades darker, huh? Hmmm.

Yeah, for example their sort of buttery blonde color is apparently a little closer to a butterscotch, and their dark blonde was closer to a light golden brown, and so on. I know there was a comparison photo in one of the threads about online wig stores, but the exact post is evading me at the moment XD;

That's a shame, because they have some nice, lighter pastel colors that I was eyeing. Might be too dark irl. :(

Well, if you come across it, let me know. :D Thanks for the info.
