Space Lolita!

I got inspired by a post made a couple days ago, asking what everyone would like to be more acceptable in Lolita. I got to thinking about more interesting printed dresses, and came up with a space-themed Lolita! While I'd really like to sew up a simple space-printed JSK, I got to drawing a few more ideas for designs.

Photobucket shrunk this down a lot more than I thought it would...

1. Strapless dress over a black blouse. The dress fabric is a crinkled-up, green iridescent taffeta. (I know shiny fabrics are taboo for lolita, but it actually works with this outfit, at least in my head.) There's two points at the top of the bodice, a black ribbon, and a row of ruching along the bottom in the style of Mary Magdalene. She's got a wrist computer clamped onto her wrist, and her headdress has a bow of the same fabric as the dress along with a couple of peacock feathers. I think it looks more steampunk than Lolita, really, but what do you expect when you combine the Victorian era with Sci-Fi?

2. I was inspired by that puffy confection BABY put out a little while ago. You know the one- popped collar, ridiculous amounts of lace... This is pretty much the same idea, only with appliqued stars holding up swags of white organza. Thing is, I can't stop picturing the dress as being pink, which doesn't hold to the theme very well...

BTW, for those who can't make out the text on the drawing between 3 and 4, it goes like this:
"Do the robot!!"
"*sigh* No. I will not do the Robot."
Yes, I know, my humor is lame.

3. Navy blue skirt with the Milky Way embroidered into it, embellished with lots of sparkly rhinestones. Her headdress is black and white with stars and more rhinestones.

4. Blue jsk with light gray star applique. White lace trim and glitter adorn the stars, probably a few more rhinestones here, too. Shiny gray ribbons shoot out from the big star. Halter-style straps with a big bow in back. The headdress is white with a little veil.

And that's it! The most I'm likely to actually attempt is a simple printed jsk, or *maybe* outfit 4. I'm partial to pirate- and gangster-loli when it comes to themes, so this sort of thing isn't really my style. I just wanted to share, because there were a couple of people who seemed interested in the concept.
