Unmoderated Posting Access

Oct 11, 2011 18:53

Since all unmoderated posting access was removed inadvertently during the sales community's closure, we feel that it's the perfect time to roll out some new requirements for gaining it. All users, regardless of whether or not they had unmoderated posting access in the past, must reapply.

If you do not meet the criteria at this time, don't despair- you can apply for unmoderated posting access at any time, and we will periodically be posting up reminders, as well. Also bear in mind that this is just a perk- not having unmoderated posting access won't decrease your standing in the community, nor will it affect your ability to post to the community. It just means you may have to wait a bit for your post to go through the queue.

In order to receive unmoderated posting status, please comment below with the following:
- A link to three "perfect" sales posts on the sales community, made within the past eighteen (18) months. Please don't link to your post history- link to the three specific posts you'd like us to consider.
- A link to your feedback page on the eglfeedback community

A "perfect" post is one on which a moderator did not have to comment to remind you to fix anything, be it something small like your cut, or something larger like removing items or making appropriate reductions. You can look through your posts by going to http://egl_comm_sales.livejournal.com?poster=YOURUSERNAME (obviously replacing YOURUSERNAME with your Livejournal username). We don't require that you include the most recent posts, you may pick any three posts made in the last 18 months.

In addition, you must meet the following requirements:
- 3 or more positive feedback
- No warnings within the past month
- No history of temporary bans for any reason

These requirements are stringent for a reason: unmoderated posting access is a privilege, not a right, and we reserve that privilege for those users who have a history of following the rules and who have shown an ability to do so with a bare minimum of interference from the moderation team. If you do not meet them at this time, please note that the process to apply for unmoderated posting access is constantly ongoing- so continue to make good posts to the sales community, and you may meet them later :)

Since we've seen a lot of users using their unmoderated posting access to break community rules, we would like to make it very clear that unmoderated posting access is not your right- and as such, it can be lost. If you receive any kind of official warning, you will have to return to moderated posting for one month. After that month, you can regain your unmoderated posting access by making another "perfect" post to the sales community, or by commenting here and meeting the above criteria. If you do anything to lead the moderation team to believe that you are a deadbeat seller or buyer or a scammer, your unmoderated posting access will be permanently revoked and may not be regained.

Repeat offenders (those who have been temporarily banned) will not be allowed to gain or regain unmoderated posting access.

Finally, the moderation team reserves the right to deny unmoderated posting access to any person, at any time, and for any reason. The moderation team also reserves the right to revoke unmoderated posting access without prior warning at any time.

A moderator will reply to and screen your comment when unmoderated posting access has been granted. If it cannot be granted at this time, a moderator will inform you via comment or PM if or when you may reapply for unmoderated posting access.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns on this policy, please feel free to comment below and a moderator will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note that all comments will be screened once they have been handled.
