● Chris and I like the Austin City Limits Festival so much that we have already bought tickets for 2009. They went on sale yesterday for those on the mailing list. Well there's been several people who have been yelling in the wilderness for the last few years, and you've pointed out some of them, but yeah, the populace doesn't want the ride to end, so people look away.

Thanks for the links you provide!

Yes, the bailout bill that features a made up large number! We will see how that works out. It's going to become the next president's problem, as the Bush administration is already checking out.

I like Marketplace, and maybe I should get it as a podcast since it never plays at a time I can listen. I do get a chance to read some blogs in between calls at work, so I try to keep up. This story just so large, it's hard to get around it all, and to try to divine what's to come? Well that's impossible.

The potato thing really struck me as funny, and allowed for many bad puns at work. Always good. We had never been given "coupons" for lunch at work before, so I can tell that the company is trying to keep costs down, keeping down the number of people heading back for seconds.

Oh, gods. You've really got a good point about 2012. I wish ta god you didn't, but you do.

I just hope that Obama is able to be an FDR, not a Carter.

I just feel that the odds for success are really stacked against the next president as they will be doing their best just to be digging out from the mess that the Bush Administration has caused (if they choose to actually try to clean it up at all). It could make 2012 just as contentious or moreso than this year.

FDR would be a good model for Obama, but we would need to fall further before he could really do as much control over the economy as FDR took. Americans would be wary of that right now. Carter is a brilliant man who wasn't quite prepared, and I'm hoping that Obama won't fall into the same place where he becomes ineffectual. It's the only worry I have about the man.

Still, the job is to clear house right now and get the toxic, intrenched republicans out of office to clean up. I'll take the risk that Obama may not do the job than having McCain keep the same people in place any longer.
