From Soup to Nuts

We saw Ratatouille this afternoon. It was a great little story. Brad Bird is certainly a master. I also found the music to be well-suited for the film. For Pixar, not having Randy Newman at all must have been a stretch. This would be one of the best Pixar films if you ask me. I wish everyone else was as thoughtful as you when it comes to the threats we face from extremist terrorists, who as you quite rightly pointed out, come from all kinds of backgrounds and creeds.

Both in the US, and here in Canada, we could take some lessons from the measured response and steely, steadfast resolve shown in Britain to refuse to knuckle under and give in to panic, but to fight back in the best way possible, by refusing to give in to fear.

Thanks for the review of "Ratatouille". I hadn't really planned to make a particular effort to go see it, but yours is one of several reviews that makes me think I'll be pleasantly surprised by it.

I'm still forming opinions and trying to pull out what's going on, really from the junk given by both the left and right. I think we have to be vigilant, and watch for threats, but I don't think terrorism is carte blanche to go in and "kill 'em all". We need to be much more careful about using force, and should look for better solutions in diplomacy, intellegence and police work, not military actions.

I think our neocon- New american Century people have truly overreached in their desire to asset american dominance once again that they have managed to make us weaker and expose major problems in our current millitary. Heck, just watch as Russia is working to flex it's muscels as it sees a power vacuum as we get bogged down in Iraq like they were in Afganistan in the 1980's.

I pretty much agree with you re: rating of Pixar films, with one exception:

I knew i missed one...I'll put it in the list. I'm not as big of a fan of it since i think they tries, like in A Bigs life, tho get "voices" rather than have people just play the part.
