running and killer trees and more SPN ramble

I was out running on a trail today with my dog (I'm training for a half-marathon) and A TREE NEARLY FELL ON MY HEAD. It was very windy and I could see it swaying dangerously low in the middle of the trail so I zoomed under it as fast as I could. Half a minute later it crashed down right in the middle of the trail. Death by tree, that wouldn't have ( Read more... )

Dean is fascinating and scary. Sam wins at being cold-blooded though, the reverse exorcism was brutal. I don't think it means anything, I sort of went from "there has to be some reveal about Sam" to "LOL writers" quite painlessly. I'm looking forward to seeing Amelia and the dog in the next ep. If she's still being written badly, I'll start shipping Sam/dog... I mean... I'll start shipping Sam/Dean/Benny.

I think that "LOL writers" might be a more healthy attitude to have. XD

Yes, that reverse exorcism with no angsting about killing the host was in your words "Harsh", and quite surprising for someone who has been out of hunting for a year.
I too hope the Sam story isn't as awful as the little bit we got in the first episode. Maybe we can just focus on the cute dog.

I'm glad that the killer tree wasn't successful, be careful out there!

It's not the first time they've killed demons without worrying about the host, but it seemed especially callous in this episode. I admit it bugs me a bit because it makes the rest of their 'saving people' crusade seem a bit pointless, if they're picking and choosing who they try to save, ya know? Seems like more and more people are getting sacrificed for the sake of the bigger picture, and that doesn't gel with the rest of their 'if we can only save this one person' attitude. :/

Then again, another part of me is kinda perversely pleased that they clearly don't care that much about anyone outside of each other, especially now that nearly all their allies are dead or missing.
