It's funny that you commented on his expression. I noted that too when I saw the pic. He seems annoyed by the tedium. Maybe that's how you are feeling about your creativity too?
I am enjoying this exercise of yours. Not only is it a great idea for writing prompts, but I am also getting to know you better, which is fun too :)
That expression on his face was a big part of my interpretation - rather than going with the traditional meaning of the 8 of pentacles. I'm glad you saw it too!
Not trying to be a copy cat, but his expression is the first thing I noticed, too! Suspicious was the first word that came to my mind, too. Second, I thought he was giving a look (like the evil eye) like we were invading his space and we should go away.
Good insight - and something that is going on with me right now too. A very fussy, very forceful and controlling customer insists I have to make her a certain kind of fimo necklace even though I told her I don't do that anymore. I wish she would go away. Sometime though I guess I need to answer her back and try to figure out what she wants.
Hmmm...very interesting. I think your work should be something you love and not all time consuming, so you are going in the right direction. If you are drawn to your workbench, that is very good :)
I noticed that workman's expression, too. I think that he cannot look at the person viewing him and work, too, so he is posing for the artist. It does give him a peculiar look.
Well, I think it all comes down to my management of time. I waste a lot of time (on the computer mainly), then I feel pressure to get orders done and don't give myself other time to do the relaxing and expressive art I would like to do too. I just need an attitude adjustment.
