Wow...good memory to remember so many of your pets. A lot you've named I remember or had heard about, but some are totally new to me. I remember when we got chickens (all different kinds....was that your idea and your chickens?) and I still lived at home. One of them dad (I thought) named Hermione because of her wild top head feathers. They lived in a make shift chicken wire pen over by the Hydrangea. I hope I'm remembering that right and it wasn't all just a dream. :))
I had those chickens you are thinking of behind the hydrangea bush after the divorce. I probably got them in the summer of 1984. Dave built me the chicken coop and Dad helped me put up the fence. I lived in the little trailer down near them at the top of the hill. Dad really enjoyed those chickens I think. I took them with me when I married Dave in 1986. You remember right that every chicken was a different breed. Hermione was a Polish Tophat and dad did name her. I think you got the years that they were living there wrong though.
It's funny but when we were growing up Grandma and Grandpa would only allow the family to have one dog. When I grew up and got away from home the animal count just exploded - every stray came to our house and I couldn't turn any away.
