One of my favorite sayings is, "Am I living in the problem or am I living in the solution?" Probably cause I tend to focus on problems so often - living in worry and dread ( Read more... )

good news, oo-tapo, fears, hopeful things

Poor kiddo. How old is Oo-tapo? And how did he get his name?

Hopefully, once he gets the crystals resolved he'll feel better and maybe resume normal.

He is 19 years old. He used to be my ex-husband Pat's cat. Pat named him after a city in Thailand called U-Tapao. After my ex died I took over the cat in 2005 and I didn't know how the name was spelled so I made up my own spelling. It was only in the last few years that I looked it up and learned how I should be spelling it. Now I'm just used to my spelling.

Yes, I hope we can finish out his life not having to confine him to a cage or a closed bathroom.

Hmmm...I think I was there at that navy base on year when I visited relatives. That's a great story about making up the spelling.

Ex was in the Vietnam war and the air base must have been something that stayed with him. I think he worked there. Though now, sadly, I can no longer ask him...

Poor kitty! I think I would avoid peeing if I had crystals, I would avoid peeing, too! That's good the vet found the problem and you can correct it with diet.

You are SUCH a good kitty mum. That's nice that Oo-tapo likes going in his cage. maybe he feels safe there.

And that is such a good outcome that you have saved Oo-tapo for another day!

What a good saying. I should say it to myself.

Yes, poor old Oo-tapo. He's been doing this going outside the litter box thing for quite a while - I thought he was just getting senile and accepted it but it was getting to be too much when he started to do it upstairs. Anyway, I'm glad to hear it might be a medical issue and can be fixed.

That saying really helps me figure out what I am doing in my mind. When I focus on the problem the problem gets huge and overpowering but when I focus on the solution things always get better.

Yes, really good news on Oo-tapo :) I know how much you wanted him to get better.

I will have to try that saying out :)
