I know what you mean about watching the leaves grow. On our two backyard oaks when the first sign of spring is here, in morning the trees are still bare, then by evening and the next morning they are covered with tens of thousands of tiny bright green leaves. That might be a good time lapse to do.

Oh, I love that your hummingbirds are coming back!

Take care and I hope you are wrong about being sick.

Cross ventilation is great, so I hope you find a screen door soon.

So happy about Gabe and the prom.

This is one of my favorite times - when the tiny leaves are on the trees and you can still see the skeletal limbs well. We seem to have a thunderstorm each night and then sunny days - prime growing weather.

Gabe is very excited. He loves clothes and style and looking good too. :-)

Black Walnut?

I've been on a screen door campaign for years now. I don't like how they make screen doors anymore. I prefer the one's I grew up with; extruded aluminum where you took the glass out in spring. To me, what they make now looks like they belong on trailer.

Recommended comedy series: "Archer", "Bob's Burgers", "Louie", "The IT Crowd", "Wilfred". Also, I've started watching "The 70's Show", which I didn't watch when it was on, but am enjoying it now; and, there are, I think, 200 episodes so I won't run out anytime soon.

Thanks Ron for so many recommendations. The only one I am familiar with is The IT Crowd and we both loved it. Will check out the others. I have seen the 70's Show now and then too - it's good. Have you seen Bored to Death? It's funny - we both liked it a lot.

I had not heard of "Bored to Death", but it looks interesting. I put it and "Northern Exposure" on my DVD list. I vaguely remember watching a few of the first "Northern Exposure" episodes, but I don't remember how many so I can't pick up where I left off. Neither of these is available for streaming, which I prefer since it is more convenient in some ways. On my DVD list I usually just put new ones at the end of the list and watch DVDs from the top. That means it is generally months before something percolates to the top and I watch it. By then I've often forgotten who recommended it or why I put it on my list.

I don't know quite why my last comment was anonymous. You just can't trust computers.

Leaves! This means it is truly spring :)

I'm happy for you that the hummingbirds are coming back too :)

I'm glad you are taking care of yourself while sick. And I hope you get better soon!

I'm thinking I need a screen too. On the back door. So I can have it open and it's not blowing a gale through the house, not to keep out insects :)

That is a bog weekend for Gabe and it is lovely that you have been involved :)

The world is changing rapidly right now - really greening up here.

It's a little thrill every time you look out and a hummingbird is there, 2 feet from your window.

Feeling better today - I guess the rest did me good.

It's good to have air flow through the house - especially if you don't have all house AC - which we don't.

I'm happy to play mother during the week to the boys since their mom is so far away right now.

I don't have ANY house A/C, which is quite okay, because I live in the mountains and get a beautiful cool sea breeze :)

Sorry the boy's mum is far away at the moment. They must miss her.

Glad you're feeling better :) You did the right thing by resting.

And that would be magical to have a tiny hummingbird hovering right outside your window.
