I was going to add this one (sans ipod) and put both up, then changed my mind. This one seemed better.

He's going to treasure these pictures in his later years. So many things to connect back to - even the long obsolete technology will tickle him when he shows his kids and they, "What's that thing?"

I hadn't thought of that but probably very true. Who knows what they'll be playing with someday?

I'll bet Oo-tapo was enjoying Rossy's warmth. They both look very happy.

Yeah, it seems in my youth all winters were cold and all summers were hot.

I like how you looked after the animals - put extra hay in the dog box and barn. I'm glad your chooks made it through, and that's amazing how your pony had frost on his face the next morning even though you closed the door!

Stay warm and snug, won't you? The hairs in your nose freezing: O_o My youngest son's uncle worked in China north of the the Himalayas. He said if he had a shower and then went outside, his hair froze and pulled on his scalp! These are NOT things I want to experience, hehe :)

Right now I have no outside animals (unless you count the bird feeders that I keep filled for the wild birds) so it is a relief in this cold weather that I don't need to go outside much. I do want to get chickens again though and that will mean going outside at least a few times a day. It will mean a new regime of life for me to have outside animals again. Now I would know to put a light bulb or heater in the chicken house on these extra cold nights.

Yeah, chickens are originally tropical creatures, I think. The light bulb idea is a good one!

I thought about getting chooks again...and then remembered that I would have to get up very early in the morning again - and also be home a lot.

This is such a lovely, cosy photo, and the thought of you making all the animals secure and warm is so comforting, too.

Sweet little Roswell (sweet sometimes!) and wise old man Oo-tapo.
