date night update

We ate at the Mexican restaurant (I got a chile relleno - my current favorite) but we couldn't agree on a movie so gave that up. We remembered that there might be a funeral home viewing in Knox for an old friend of Dave's and called another friend for the details of when and where and went to that instead. Last Sunday his friend had an attack of ( Read more... )

Hmmm .... from the titles of the movies you got, they sound pretty interesting, especially that first one. Let me know how you liked or didn't like them.

I'm sorry about Dave's friend. What a tragic and sudden thing to have happened. And to think that is what you had, too!

They say you can survive one attack of pancreatitis but you likely won't survive a second or third. I feel very fortunate.

I ended up watching "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" while Dave watched some action war movie he got last night. Timothy Green was OK, made by Disney but the acting at times seemed like it was meant for kids.

Chicken enchiladas!

It's frightening how things can change so quickly for a family, now they are all wondering what happened.

Have you tried the Chili Relleno yet?

Yes, I don't think it has really sunk in yet for them.

That's very sad about Dave's freind. It will be very sad for the family. That's what Gyro had. They were very pessimistic about the outcome. You seem to have survived your's very well!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower sounds very interesting to me. I hope you enjoy it!

I sure do not want to have another one of those attacks - it was the most painful thing I have ever had happen to me. Was that what killed Gyro? So sorry.

The Wallflower movie sounds like the best one to me too.

No, he didn't die of that. He had it a couple of years earlier. It damaged most of his pancreas, and they had to remove the dead tissue. Towards the end he wasn't digesting some things. He died from a blood clot which blocked off the main artery to his lungs :(

I'm sorry you had pancreatitis. It is very painful. I am amazed that you are walking around without any damage from it. Do you still have your gall bladder? It was a gall stone which caused Gyro's pancreatitis.

I was lucky in that mine started to clear up quickly. I was only in the hospital for about 5 days. I got my gallbladder out soon afterwards because mine was caused by a gallstone too. They told me that you might survive your first attack but the next one you are much less likely to survive. I NEVER wanted another so got my gallbadder out as soon as I could.

That must have severely affected Gyro's entire health. Sad when things like this happen to cut someone down. Seems so unfair.
