OK, now that you say what he is doing, I can see the look of "lost" on his face. :)) Still a great photograph though. It is so beautifully composed of knee, hand and face leading you into the picture. It looks like a professional people photographer posed him.

This is a beautiful picture. His face reminds me of a old time studio portrait from the days before people smiled for the camera, when long exposures were required and the challenge was to remain still, rather than to smile. Then the hand and knee tell us this is not posed, but just the position a little boy is likely to take, and the skinned knee, showing us he's a boy who goes out to play...
Thanks - I hid behind a doorway to get this photo (steadying the camera on the door frame). He was in a dark corner only lit by the computer screen so it was like the old time photos with long exposures. I got another photo where he blinked and his eyes looked very strange - liked closed eyes with images of pupils layered on the eye lids.
